Baggage Allowances
Baggage allowance for airline flights used to be very straightforward. You could take two pieces of checked luggage at no charge, and each piece could weigh up to 70 pounds (32kg).
Those days are now gone, with many airlines reducing their checked baggage allowance to only a single piece with a weight limit of 50 pounds (23kg), and some airlines charging fees for each piece of checked luggage. However, every airline has exceptions to the free baggage allowance, based on your destination, the date you purchased your airline tickets, or the type of airfare you have purchased.
